Implemented in the Philippines by SmartCT as part of the regional AI Ready ASEAN programme.

Free AI training with credentials employers and schools recognise

AI Ready ASEAN is a regional programme of the ASEAN Foundation, supported by Google.org through the AI Opportunity Fund 3.0 and coordinated with AVPN, with the ambition of reaching 175,000 citizens across Southeast Asia with essential AI skills. In the Philippines, SmartCT is the Local Implementing Partner, running the programme as AI Ready Pilipinas from September 2026 to July 2028.

Every learner completes a blended track — live onboarding and workshop sessions facilitated in English, Filipino, and other Philippine languages, plus self-paced Google for Education or Google DeepMind modules — and earns a uniquely coded SmartCT completion certificate on top of their Google credential.

Learning journey

From gateway registration to certificate in six steps

  1. Register on the AI Opportunity Fund gateway

    Create your learner account on AVPN's gateway platform and find the AI Ready Pilipinas card. Clicking through to this page logs your official training start.

  2. Complete the pre-survey and pick your track

    Answer the baseline survey, then choose the track that matches your role — teacher, student, STEM student, or faculty. Your school or HEI focal person can confirm eligibility.

  3. Join your live onboarding session

    A 1.5-hour guided session (online or in person) walks you through the platform, the Filipino companion guide, and what completion requires. Offered on weekends and weekday evenings.

  4. Learn at your own pace

    Work through your Google for Education or Google DeepMind modules whenever it suits you. Recordings, downloadable content for low-bandwidth areas, and Regional Coordinator check-ins keep you on track.

  5. Earn your Google credential

    Pass the Gemini Educator or Gemini University Student certification exam, or complete your DeepMind course badges — with a SmartCT preparation pack and one retake window included.

  6. Claim your SmartCT completion certificate

    Attend your closing workshop, submit your final output (cascade plan or AI Action Plan where required), and receive your uniquely coded certificate — verified against the AVPN gateway.

Every track adds Filipino-context sessions: Philippine classroom case studies, discipline application workshops, a Filipino-English AI/ML glossary, and facilitation guides in Filipino — the difference between generic AI training and AI training that lands.

How to register

Registration is free and opens with the first cohorts in late 2026, with new cohorts running nationwide through 2028 — schedules and locations will be announced here as they are confirmed. Teachers are nominated through their DepEd School Division; students and faculty register through their partner HEI focal person — or directly via the gateway.
